Learn English skills to communicate and manage your day-to-day activities, with the Certificate III in EAL (Access) 22640VIC at Victoria University.

This English-language course is designed for people learning English as an additional language.

It will help you to improve your English-language speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. These will help you with everyday communication and community participation. The course will also help you to progress into further English-language study, training or work.

In this course you will develop the skills to:

  • participate in casual conversations
  • understand and give information and directions
  • read and write straightforward information, instructions and stories
  • use the internet and email to develop your language skills
  • find out about Australian issues
  • work with a range of numbers and Australian money.

Course Structure

To be awarded the 22640VIC Certificate III in EAL (Access), a total of eight (8) units must be achieved, consisting of: 1 Core unit 1 Speaking and Listening Elective unit 1 Reading and Writing Elective unit 2 Language Skills Elective units that have not been previously completed from:

- this qualification

- Certificate II, III or IV qualifications in this EAL Framework. 3 General Electives which have been selected from:

- General Electives listed in this qualification

- General Electives listed in the Certificate II, III and/or IV qualifications in this EAL Framework

- units that are first packaged in AQF level 2, 3 or 4 qualifications in other accredited courses and/or endorsed training packages.
