Overview

Develop the English and academic skills needed to achieve in higher studies, with a Certificate IV in EAL (Further Study) 22646VIC from Victoria University.

This course is designed for people learning English as an additional language.

It will help you develop English-language speaking, listening, reading, writing and learning skills for further education.

In this English course, you will develop strategies for learning and the skills to:

  • participate in complex conversations about study
  • give complex spoken presentations related to study
  • read and write complex information for study purposes
  • understand and take notes from complex information for study purposes
  • learn about the education system in Australia
  • analyse study tasks and written information
  • search library and information databases.

Course Structure

To be awarded the 22646VIC Certificate IV in EAL (Further Study), a total of nine (9) units must be achieved, consisting of: 7 Core units 2 Elective units not previously completed from:

- elective units listed in this qualification

- Certificate III or IV qualifications in this EAL Framework

- units which are first packaged in AQF levels 3, 4 or 5 in other accredited courses and/or endorsed training packages
