Gain the practical experience needed to thrive in healthcare environments, with the Certificate IV in Health Administration (HLT47321) traineeship at Victoria University.

This industry-recognised traineeship combines paid, hands-on work with tailored learning, helping you build the knowledge and confidence to succeed as a health administrator. You’ll gain a strong understanding of the healthcare system and your role within it – while working directly in a healthcare setting.

  • understanding legal frameworks, codes of conduct, and workplace safety
  • applying infection prevention and control procedures
  • using medical terminology and maintaining clinical documentation

Your workplace experience will be supported by one day per week of supported learning through Victoria University.

Course structure

To be awarded the HLT47321 Certificate IV in Health Administration, 15 units must be completed consisting of:

  • 9 core units
  • 6 elective units, consisting of

- a least 4 units listed in the qualification

- up to 2 units listed in the qualification or any endorsed Training Package or accredited course. All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Trainees complete:

  • a minimum of 580 hours in the workplace.
  • 1 day per week online and/or on campus or in a classroom. 

Students are required to complete additional eLearning and self-directed learning with staff support access available.
