Gain the skills and knowledge needed to start a university or TAFE course, with the Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation (22710VIC) at Victoria University.

This preparation course is designed to help you build your confidence and academic skills to start tertiary studies. It the perfect transition into university or TAFE if you:

  • completed Year 12, but missed the ATAR or score needed to get into your chosen course
  • started Year 11 or 12 and enjoy learning, but find the school environment isn't for you
  • studied VCE VM and need additional skills to start a university course
  • left school a while ago and want to upskill or change career.

You'll develop new skills in:

Course structure

To be eligible for the award of 22710VIC Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation learners must successfully complete a total of 10 units comprising: • 5 core units • 5 elective units which may be selected from: – elective units listed – units first packaged in any other endorsed training package or accredited curriculum. Units imported from endorsed training packages or other accredited curricula must: • reflect the needs of the learner • reflect the integrity of the AQF level of this qualification • support the intent of this qualification.Where the full qualification is not completed, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for any completed units.
