Overview

Gain the skills and knowledge required to register as a tax agent, with the Commercial Law for Tax Agents Skill Set FNSSS00005 at Victoria University.

This course is ideal for you if you're currently studying or working in the finance industry and need to apply for registration with the Tax Practitioner Board (TPB).

As part of this six-month course, you'll engage in a face-to-face workshop one day per week. You'll also need to take part in additional self-directed learning online, in your own time.  

The TPB website contains further information on what you may need to do to become a registered tax agent.

Entry requirements

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.

Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.

The course runs over six months. It consists of:

  • One day per week attending a face-to-face workshop on campus
  • Additional self-directed eLearning activities with staff support available

A Statement of Attainment will be issued for nationally recognised units of competency successfully completed.
