Complete this short course to meet the Tax Practitioners Board eligibility requirements for a course in Australian taxation law.

11 February – 24 June 2019 10am–4pm Monday day classes (no classes held on 15 & 22 April)
11 February – 24 June 2019 6–10pm Monday evening classes (no classes held on 15 & 22 April)

This course is suitable for people who have a qualification or industry experience in the accounting or finance sector and are looking to gain skills in tax law.

You will develop knowledge in:

  • preparing tax documentation for individuals
  • preparing and administering  tax documentation for legal entities.

Course contents

To be issued a Statement of Attainment for FNSSS00008 Tax Law for Tax Agents Skill Set (Tax documentation), a student must successfully complete two (2) core units.

This skill set describes the skills and knowledge required to meet the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) educational eligibility requirements for a course in Australian taxation law. The units of competency cover preparing tax documentation for individuals and preparing and administering tax documentation for legal entities.

This skill set from the FNS Financial Services Training Package together, with the appropriate assessment methods as set by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB), meets the requirements for a course in tax law for tax agents that is approved by the TPB. Persons seeking tax agent registration should check with the TPB for details of other current registration requirements, including those relating to experience and fitness and propriety.
