Push for better with Victoria University
Join our Victoria University community for the 2024 Push Up Challenge. We’re teaming up with our partners at Lifeline Western Melbourne for this 24-day challenge, as we focus on our own and others' mental health.
Push for better with Victoria University
3,249 lives were lost to suicide in Australia in 2022.
The Push-Up Challenge aims to raise awareness, engage and educate people and raises funds for crisis support and suicide prevention services. The Push-Up Challenge runs from the 5-28 June 2024 and 3,249 push-ups are done over 24 days representing the 3,249 lives lost to suicide in 2022.
Can’t do push-ups? No worries, feel free to mix it up and do other exercises such as squats, sit-ups or step-ups. There is also an option to do half the challenge with 1625 push-ups.
Victoria University’s partnership with Lifeline Western Melbourne means all funds will go directly to the support the cause in the Western Suburbs.
We're calling on students, staff, alumni, community members and friends of VU to start or join a team, and become part of the Victoria University community as we Push for Better Mental Health.
We invite everyone – University sport reps, social sport players, fitness-centre members, and elite-level athletes – to get on board! If you haven't been part of our programs before we still want you; this is open to all and free.
For VU staff, this is a great opportunity to connect with your colleagues as a department, college or cross-functional unit.
Students, try encouraging your classmates join up. Take charge and create your own team among your cohort or peers and have fun, keep fit and stay connected.
How to join the Victoria University community
You can create your own team or join an existing team through the Victoria University Community Page. While joining up please select 'Lifeline Western Melbourne' as the Beneficiary to support our partners.
