    Become a financial expert with practical accounting expertise, by choosing a Bachelor of Business (Accounting).

    You will graduate with sought-after skills, ready to pursue a career in financial management, financial reporting, auditing, management accounting or tax planning.

    As part of your studies, you will learn how to:

    • produce financial reports
    • interpret financial information
    • use financial accounting tools and measurements to improve resource allocation.

    You will also gain the strong analytic skills needed to prepare and analyse financial data, using industry-relevant technology.

    Our accounting courses are accredited by CPA Australia and the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). VU accounting students are eligible to apply for membership upon graduation.

    Unit set structure

    For a major study students must complete 96 credit points consisting of:

    • 96 credit points of Major Studies

    Please note: Students who intend to become members of CPA and CA ANZ must complete the minor, BMIPAC Professional Accounting.
    What is a unit?

    A full course is made up of several smaller topics or subjects. These are referred to as 'units'.
    Most courses have compulsory 'core' units, as well as optional units.


    'Credit points' are the value that each unit contributes towards your course.
    Most units at VU are worth 12 credit points. You will need to complete the required course credit points to graduate.
