About Jiao Yin
Dr Jiao Yin is an active researcher with an excellent work ethic and solid knowledge and skills in machine learning and data analysis, with a particular focus on cybersecurity, knowledge graph, vulnerability assessment, privacy preservation and access control. Jiao is now a full-time research fellow in the Institute for Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities (ISILC) at Victoria University. She has strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills developed through completing PhD research and working as a research assistant, research fellow and lecturer. She also has diverse research and teaching experiences and proven abilities to present complex material in a clear, concise and persuasive manner.
As an early-career researcher, Jiao has published 14 refereed scholar papers, including 6 Q1 Journal (SCImago 2021) papers in machine learning, cyber security, Artificial Intelligence, privacy-preserving and data analysis. Representative publications are on:

- Algorithm development and applications in machine learning and deep learning, including but not limited to concept drift learning, Natural Language Processing and image processing

Jiao believes that teaching is a creative activity designed to foster students' learning, enhance their ability, boost their desire to undertake scholarly work, and promote their professional development. Jiao aims to make the learning journey as inspiring, creative and productive as possible. Her style and teaching method emphasise students' engagement and competency development.
Jiao was the Unit Coordinator of NIT3202 Data Analytics for Cyber Security in 2022 WB, 2022 S2B1 and 2022 H2B2 for VU Sydney campus.
