Orientation is a great way to start university or TAFE. You'll get important course information and meet other students at fun social events.

Join the O-Fest social program in addition to your Orientation to make friends, join a club or society, find out about all the programs and support services available to you at VU, and participate in some fun activities.

2022 Semester 2 Orientation program

New to VU? Make sure you attend your Orientation session(s) as well as the O-Fest activities and social program.

Be sure to watch all of the Getting Connected videos before your Orientation as these contain essential information to help you get ready for your first day of classes.

You will receive an email from VU with details of your relevant Orientation sessions.

Social program

Kick off university life with the O-Fest activities and social program. There will be free food and entertainment throughout each day.

Commencing students are invited to attend any of the on-campus O-Fest activities at any campus, regardless of your main campus of study.

Attend the festivities to meet other students, join a club, find out about support services, get involved with student life, and take part in fun activities.

Higher Education Diploma

If you’re about to commence one of these Higher Education Diploma courses, come along to your Orientation/Welcome session to get prepared to commence your studies.

During your welcome session your program managers will provide you with important information about you course.

You will also get the opportunity to meet your classmates and teachers, plus have the opportunity to ask any questions before your course commences.

Students are encouraged to follow our step-by-step instructions to enrol online prior to attending Orientation.

You can also attend a drop-in enrolment support session on campus or online where our friendly Enrolments team will assist you.

Victoria University International students are eligible for a free Airport Reception upon your first arrival into Melbourne, Australia.  This service will take you from the Airport to your requested accommodation within Melbourne.

This service is available when you complete the Airport Reception Form 10 days prior to arrival. Please note that any VU students travelling together must complete separate forms.

If you are an international student starting at VU, please attend one compulsory Meet your International Student Advisors (MYISA) session.

During the session you will:

  • find out about VU's many support services
  • hear about services in the community and how to get involved
  • be able to ask questions
  • learn how your International Student Advisors (ISAs) can help you.

ISAs understand the challenges you might face as you adjust to a new culture and environment. There is a lot of important information you need to know, including your rights as an international student studying in Australia.

Your ISAs will help you every step of the way.
