Orientation

Welcome to Victoria University (VU) and Victoria Polytechnic (VP) – we hope it's one of the most memorable times of your life!

Orientation, or O-Fest as we call it at VU, is a great way to start university or TAFE! You'll receive important course information and make friends at fun social events.

Orientation takes place twice a year. In February/March (Semester 1) we call it O-Fest, and in July (Semester 2) we call it Welcome Carnival.

Summer O-Fest 2018

Summer O-Fest 2018 takes place from 13-24 February.

We have lots of free fun activities planned across our campuses.

International student orientation

International student orientation

As a new international student you need to arrive in Australia before your course starts and in time to attend your compulsory international orientation and enrolment session. These sessions are free, but you must register to attend.

International orientation and enrolment sessions are run by Student Services and provide important information about living in Melbourne and getting started at VU, such as:

  • health and safety
  • arriving in Melbourne
  • accommodation and rental advice
  • your student visa rights and responsibilities
  • academic and support services for international students.
