2022 Orientation program

New to VU? Make sure you attend your Orientation session(s) as well as the O-Fest activities and social program.

Be sure to watch all of the Getting Connected videos before your Orientation as these contain essential information to help you get ready for your first day of classes.

You will receive an email with details of your relevant Orientation sessions.

For Online Orientation please note: To self-select your break out room in your Zoom Welcome sessions you will require the desktop or mobile app (version 5.3.0 or higher). We recommend that you download the Zoom desktop app prior to your Orientation.

If you’re about to commence a Higher Education Diploma course with the College of English, Foundation & Pathways, come along to your Welcome session to get prepared to commence your studies.

During your welcome session your program managers will provide you with important information about you course.

You will also get the opportunity to meet your classmates and teachers, plus have the opportunity to ask any questions before your course commences.

During the session you will:

ISAs understand the challenges you might face as you adjust to a new culture and environment. There is a lot of important information you need to know, including your rights as an international student studying in Australia.

Social program

Kick off university life with the O-Fest activities and social program. Events will be held at all VU campuses. There will be free food and entertainment throughout each day.

Commencing students are invited to attend any of the on-campus O-Fest activities at any campus, regardless of your main campus of study.

Don't miss the O-Fest Block Party on 28 July, open to VU students (new and returning) across all our campuses. Registrations open June 2022.

VU has committed to planting 5,100 trees at the Werribee campus and we need your help to make it happen!

Come along to VU’s community tree planting day on Friday 29 July and do your bit towards greening the west.

Register as an individual or a team and compete with others to win prizes throughout the day.

There will also be free coffee (and other hot drinks), free parking and free transport from Footscray Park campus to Werribee campus.
