In an increasingly competitive labour market, employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving and digital literacy are in high demand from employers across all industry sectors. Whilst there is a broad consensus on the basic constituent elements of these skills, significant differences in context and application exist across industries, work types and organisations.

This project aims to provide clarity as the real needs of different organisations in terms of what is most highly valued in graduate across a range of indicative industry sectors.

This research will:

  • identify and implement initiatives to improve the prospects and genuine employment outcomes for students
  • identify relevant VET credentials and map learning outcomes with a view to the establishment of a fully implemented micro credential and VET credit pathway(s)
  • ensure employability skills development is embedded in postgraduate programs.
