This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to analyse event production requirements and organise and monitor different production services and products. It requires the ability to use advanced planning, organisation and communication skills combined with detailed knowledge of the event management process and broad understanding of specialist component services.
This unit is relevant to events that are diverse in nature and are coordinated in many industry contexts, including the tourism, hospitality, sport, cultural and community sectors.It applies to workers who are responsible for making a range of operational decisions. They may work in event management companies, in event venues, or in organisations that organise their own events.
Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce & extend knowledge and skill competence within set & controlled parameters in accordance with each units learning outcomes & performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines.

The qualified trainer and assessor will provide teaching and learning materials as required in the form of workbooks produced by Victoria University and/or via the Victoria University e-learning system.
