This unit complements the work undertaken in Interventions 1, by developing students’ skills in the assessment, formulation, and treatment of adult disorders using psychodynamic psychotherapy theory and practices. The unit furthers student competencies in the Victoria University’s clinical training model, which emphasises both cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic interventions. Learning will focus on the application of psychodynamic psychotherapy to a range of client problems and disorders, meta-competencies in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and application of psychodynamic psychotherapy to high prevalence mental health disorders.
