    Overview

    This unit forms part of the leadership focus in 4th year of the Bachelor of Early Childhood and Leadership. In this unit, students conduct a capstone research project on a topic of their choosing, connecting it with an aspect of leadership in the context of early childhood education. Having developed a research proposal in ECE4004: Research Methods in Early Childhood, students will collect and analyse data and begin their research report, completing the literature review as part of this unit. Students will be using skills of: critical thinking, analysis, communication, synthesis and reporting.

    Learning Outcomes

    On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

    1. Connect concepts of leadership with Early Childhood Education
    2. Investigate a significant problem/issue/insight in the context of Early Childhood Education
    3. Identify and apply appropriate methods for data collection and analysis
    4. Articulate a deep understanding of an issue relevant in Early Childhood Education
