Learning Outcomes
1. | Articulate a physiological and anatomical overview of pregnancy including conception, embryological through to fetal development, parturition, labour and delivery and common obstetrics pathologies and emergencies, including their prehospital management and treatments; | ||
2. | Indicate the general pharmacological and non pharmacological applications to obstetric, newborn and paediatric patient prehospital management and treatment; | ||
3. | Determine physiological, anatomical, psychosocial and cultural factors impacting on paediatric and adolescent development, including the common pathophysiological conditions, their prehospital assessment and management; | ||
4. | Substantiate the pathophysiology of selected non-traumatic and traumatic gynaecological and male reproductive disorders including the common causes of subfertility in the population and the current medical treatments; and | ||
5. | Delineate the physiological, anatomical,l psychosocial and cultural changes related to normal and abnormal ageing, including the general principles of prehospital management of older adults. |
