NBC3009 Building Surveying Project 2 represent the delivery of the building surveying project proposed in NBC3008 Building Surveying Project 1. NBC3009 represents the culmination of the building surveying students' learning journey in the NBBS Bachelor of Building Surveying course. This unit offers students a unique opportunity to consolidate and apply their acquired knowledge and skills in building regulations profession. The objective of this unit is to deliver on projects that involve a substantial practical building surveying content.

Throughout Building Surveying Project 2, students will take on the responsibility of organising, implementing, and evaluating various components crucial for the successful completion of a building surveying focused project in accordance with building codes. The unit encourages projects to be undertaken by small student teams, fostering a collaborative environment typical of the building surveying industry.
Building on the foundation laid in NBC3008 Building Surveying Project 1, which explored the project scope, design considerations, and planning strategies, this capstone unit continues with the creation, delivery, and evaluation phases of their respective projects.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Analyse and deliver evidenced-based recommendations relevant to a building surveying project;
  2. Propose and present a range of solutions to real and anticipated problems relevant to specifications and regulations taking into account the dynamic nature of construction practices;
  3. Produce a range of documents and/or artifacts appropriate to the building surveying profession; and
  4. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders (i.e., building surveyors, designers, and builders) in an ethical and professional manner and confidently defend ideas and proposals to relevant audiences.
