This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to experiment with ideas and techniques to find an individual style or voice throughout a creative project that results in a completed work.
The unit applies to those who have sound technical, conceptual and theoretical skills in a particular area of creative practice, often at a pre-professional level.
Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce & extend knowledge and skill competence within set & controlled parameters in accordance with each unit’s learning outcomes & performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines.
Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills:
• produce at least two creative works that reflects emerging individual style, using safe and sustainable work practices.
In the course of the above, the candidate must:
• develop a plan for producing the creative works
• develop and refine conceptual and technical skills through demonstrated process of exploration and experimentation
• document creative work in format required for chosen form
• communicate effectively with others about ideas and created work, integrating constructive feedback
• evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of completed creative project process.
The qualified trainer and assessor will provide teaching and learning materials as required in the form of workbooks produced by Victoria University and/or via the Victoria University e-learning system.
This unit is not compulsory for any specific course. Depending on the course you study, this unit may be taken as an elective.
