Overview

Develop your understanding of the employee lifecycle as it is represented in HR systems, with practical skills in SAP acquired in the People Systems and Analytics unit.

This unit introduces you to People Systems using SAP SuccessFactors software for implementing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).

During your study, you will:

  • develop industry-relevant knowledge and skills related to People Systems/HRIS
  • discover how to use HR systems to gain insights for strategic decision making
  • come to understand how AI (artificial intelligence) and other emerging technologies might be used to effect change in HR transactional processes.

Learning from a ‘People Systems Lead’, you will benefit from your teacher’s professional experience and their ability to weave real-life examples into theory and practice.


You will finish this unit with broadly relevant skills and knowledge, as human resource departments across private and public sectors leverage technology to achieve their strategic goals.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Critically analyse the administrative and strategic value of a People System/HRIS as relevant to local and global organisations;
  2. Investigate issues relating to the use of People Systems/HRIS in contemporary business settings;
  3. Construct and present People Systems (SAP-SuccessFactors) solutions, related to the management, communication, and dissemination of human resource information for business decision making; and
  4. Exhibit effective communication skills in the development and presentation of written, visual, and oral People Systems/HRIS recommendations with integrity and judgement to a People Systems professional.
