Group Training Manager, Crown Resorts

VU alumnus Paula Ntalianis started an internship at Crown more than 15 years ago and has since continued to support and promote the University's Work-Integrated Learning program.

"As the Group Training Manager for Crown Resorts, one of the main areas of focus is to promote career opportunities and learning pathways that attract future hoteliers to the Crown brand.

The program at Victoria University prepares students for real life industry experience. VU’s teaching staff set realistic expectations, and the course structure provides a strong link between theory and skills-based learning.

Over the past 10 years, Crown has employed more than 30 VU students, and we’ve had some amazing successes with graduates who have built their careers here. Students have started in frontline roles and progressed to more specialised roles upon graduation.

My advice to anyone thinking of pursuing a career in tourism and hospitality is to be open-minded during your BIL year. Work hard, be flexible and more importantly stay passionate about the industry, using the opportunity to network and learn from others."
