Whether you’ve come from high school, overseas or returning to study, we can help you adjust to life at university.

Academic support

Our Centre for Student Success provides a range of face-to-face and online academic support for our students. We can help you with:

  • university assignments and assessment tasks
  • maths and writing skills and resources
  • English language support
  • effective ways to study and manage your time
  • exam preparation.

Student advocacy

Our student advocacy service provides confidential advice, support and representation to help you progress successfully during your time at university.  We can help you prepare and present your own views regarding course progress, appeals, special consideration and complaint resolution.

Disability support

If you have a disability or medical conditions that could impact your studies, talk to us.  Our Disability Liaison Officers will help you participate in all aspects of university life.

We can provide support to enhance your learning in class through course adjustments, alternative arrangements and direct, in-class support workers. 

Financial advice

Our professional staff can provide financial advice for managing your study and living costs. We also offer guidance on financial assistance you may be entitled to from the Australian Government.

Health and wellbeing advice

We care about your health and wellbeing. Our health advisor at VU can provide confidential support, information and referrals to help you manage any physical, mental and emotional challenges.


Our counselling services offer confidential, individual counselling sessions, as well as year-round group workshops. We can help equip you with the skills, tools and resources to handle the demands of university life.
