About Qing Quan Liang

Dr Qing Quan (Stephen) Liang is the Founder and President of the Australian Association for Steel-Concrete Composite Structures (AASCCS), a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and was a member of the ASCE Technical Committees on Optimal Structural Design and Composite Construction. He received the ASCE 2004 State-of-the-Art of Civil Engineering Award from ASCE. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Steel and Composite Structures-An International Journal.

Dr Liang has contributed over 100 publications in the research areas of topology optimization, computational mechanics, steel-concrete composite structures, structural fire engineering, steel structures, and concrete structures. He is the sole author of the research book entitled "Performance-Based Optimization of Structures: Theory and Applications" (2004, Spon Press) and of the textbook entitled "Analysis and Design of Steel and Composite Structures" (2014, CRC Press), and the co-author of the research books entitled "Nonlinear Analysis of Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Columns" (2015, Scholar’s Press) and "Concrete-Filled Stainless Steel Tubular Columns" (2018, CRC Press). His books have been well received worldwide.
