About Lannie O'keefe
Dr Lannie O’Keefe (PhD) is an (Accredited Practising Dietitian) and Senior Academic at Victoria University. She is the lead dietitian and coordinator of Nutrition + Dietetics (First Year College).
Lannie is an Honorary Researcher at Western Health (Vic), who has worked predominately in Nutrition research having designed, implemented, and published research protocols using controlled diets for a variety of clinical trials. She is passionate about increasing nutrition in inequitable groups and vulnerable populations. Which has resulted in her designing, developing, and implementing award-winning sustainable community Nutrition and curriculum programs.
She completed her HDR degrees at Victoria University simultaneously completing both a master’s in nutrition and Dietetics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Science (Lifestyle disease – Obesity + Diabetes).
Lannie has had and extensive career in community, local and federal governments and primary health care and research. Resulting in a unique skill set that offers an advanced in-depth understanding of public health and nutrition knowledge and the translation of its application into real-world impact.
Outside of her position as a senior academic Lannie, maintains her front-line dietetic skills as a private practice dietitian.
