About Beatriz Gallo cordoba

Dr Beatriz Gallo Cordoba is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for International Research on Education Systems (CIRES), Mitchell Institute.

She completed her PhD in Advanced Quantitative Methods for Social Science and Health at the University of Bristol, UK. Before joining CIRES, Beatriz worked as Research Fellow – Quantitative Data/Statistics at the Centre for Youth Policy and Education Practice, Monash University.

Beatriz's research focuses on the study of disadvantage, how to measure and model it to acknowledge that this is a problem with multiple dimensions and levels. Beatriz has over 12 years of experience in the use of large administrative and survey data and statistical analysis techniques such as multilevel modelling to find evidence about inequality between groups and the potential implications for equity. This has included analysis of large-scale administrative data from standardised national exams such as NAPLAN data in Australia and its equivalent in Colombia. Beatriz has published in a number of high-quality peer-reviewed journals and public-facing reports.
