Victoria University invites local residents to have their say on plans for a new Footscray Learning Precinct, which will bring together first-class education facilities from early childhood through to university in an Australian-first.
The Victorian Government yesterday announced $15 million for the first stage of the precinct aimed at linking and expanding the area’s early childhood, school, university and adult learning facilities.
Victoria University is one of several partners involved in the precinct, which will span three hubs between Farnsworth Avenue, Hyde Street and Nicholson Street.
Other partners include Maribyrnong City Council, Footscray City Primary School, Footscray City College, as well as community groups and international education experts.
Community information sessions are underway this week, with pop-up information stands at Footscray, Yarraville and Highpoint shopping centre, and Footscray City College.
Local residents can find out more information and have their say at:
- 9 November – Student forum at Footscray City College
- 10 November – Footscray Market
- 11 November – Footscray Market
- 16 November – Yarraville pop-up park
