Re-enrol in your course

You must re-enrol each year to secure a place in your course.

You can re-enrol online, or if required, by completing an enrolment form at VUHQ or an enrolment hub.

Your responsibilities

It is your responsibility to:

  • keep your personal details and enrolment information up to date
  • select units that fit your course structure
  • check whether there are any pre-requisite and co-requisite units you need to satisfy
  • re-enrol for both semesters
  • re-enrol before census and pay fees by the due date (paying after the due date will incur a late fee of $150 being added to your account).

If you are enrolled in a double degree you should seek academic advice from Course & Unit Administrators from each discipline - visit VUHQ if you are not sure who to contact.

Please note: If you re-enrol before your previous semester results are released, we recommend checking your enrolment again once you receive your results. If you fail a unit, you need to find out how this affects your enrolment and progression. Seek advice from your Course & Unit Administrator.

Course has changed (code and/or title)

If your course has changed, and now has a different course code and/or award title, you will receive notification from your college about your options.

You may elect to either stay in your current course, or move into the new course. If you:

  • stay within your current course, you need to notify the college, then proceed to re-enrol for the upcoming semester
  • move into the new course, you need to notify the college and wait for your units to be credited into the new course before you will be able to re-enrol for the upcoming semester.

Selecting units

Before you re-enrol, find out whether or not your chosen units are offered in the upcoming semesters.

How to re-enrol

Online enrolment opens on 22 May for semester 4 (Winter school) and semester 2 2017.

Re-enrolment opens at the end of October for upcoming 2018 semesters (Summer school, and semesters 1 and 2).

When ready, go to MYVU Portal > My Details > Online Enrolment and complete all the steps to re-enrol online for Semester 1 and 2.

Make sure you use Google Chrome with popups enabled. You can refer to the online enrolment help and instructions for support.

TAFE students

Students studying certificate I-IV courses, diplomas or advanced diplomas will re-enrol through our TAFE division, Victoria Polytechnic. You will be notified about how and when you will need to re-enrol.

Eligible students re-enrolling into a Certificate I-IV will need to bring your current active concession card if you wish to claim the concession rate on your fees.

All students will need to have their Unique Student Identifier (USI) at re-enrolment. If you do not have one, find out how to apply for a USI.

Changing your units

If you are a higher education or a diploma and above student you may change your units at any time prior to the end of the third week of each semester.

Friday of week 3 of semesters 1 and 2 only is the last day to add or drop units without penalty (known as administrative census date for timely amendments). Units can be added until 11:59pm (23:59) on that Friday, after which the system will close for additions.

A $150 late fee is payable if you add units after this date, and can only be done using a paper unit of study amendment form (with approval from your Course & Unit Administrator - visit VUHQ if you are not sure who to contact).

If needed, you may discontinue your units or course without penalty up until census date. Discontinuing after the census date will attract a fail result and financial penalties.
