As part of VU’s ongoing commitment to support our students experiencing financial difficulty due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have launched a new COVID-19 Student Support Fund in 2021.

The fund provides a one-off $350 payment to eligible students.

If you are an onshore student enrolled in a unit of study at VU during Semester 2, and you have lost income due to the ongoing restrictions and lockdowns in Melbourne or Sydney, we encourage you to apply.

Eligibility

Eligible students

This fund is only available to VU students who meet the following criteria:

  • enrolled and/or completed a unit of study in Semester 2, 2021
  • studying onshore
  • have a current and active enrolment in study at VU on application and not be on an approved Leave of Absence or Intermission
  • able to demonstrate ongoing loss of income or financial hardship as a result of the impacts of COVID-19.

Required documents

Documentary evidence must include a current bank statement or letter from employer demonstrating an ongoing loss of income of 50% or more since 4 August 2021.

Additional documentation (one or both of the following):

  • rental arrears of $1000+
  • statutory declaration (written statement that you sign and declare to be true and correct in the presence of an authorised witness; find information for Victoria or for New South Wales).

  • Required information: Applications will only be assessed if a current bank statement and the appropriate supporting documentation is provided. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
