Have you considered studying in 2020 but thought you missed your chance? With Victoria University, you don’t have to wait until next year to begin your study journey.

Start your study journey with VU in September

At VU we do things differently. The New Way To Do Uni means you can start your course in September 2020 and achieve your study goals through VU's Block Model.

With multiple starting points throughout the year – in January, February, May, July and September – as well as additional subjects in summer and winter, you’ll have the option to fast-track your studies or start when you’re ready.

This means you can either catch up to your classmates, finish your studies sooner, or take a break during another block.

There are multiple starting points to start your studies throughout the year - the choice is yours.

What is VU’s Block Model?

Unlike the traditional university model, where you juggle multiple subjects at once over a semester, at VU you get to focus on one unit at a time.

You complete each unit over a four-week ‘block’. You then receive your results and have a few days to recharge before starting the next block.

Since it was introduced in 2018, the VU Block Model has seen incredible student results and global awards and recognition.

When you start in September, it means you can complete two units this year and obtain a head start in your studies.

Classes in VU’s Block Model are available in multiple combinations of days and times - morning, mid-morning, afternoon and evening - so you can create a timetable that best suits your life.

Not only will you be able to start your studies earlier, but VU’s commitment to small class sizes through our Block Model also allows more one-on-one time with your lecturers.

Successful shift to remote learning in 2020

In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, most VU classes are running via Zoom and Webex until it’s safe to return to campus. Typically, each unit has three face-to face teaching sessions per week that run for three hours each and are scheduled over three days.

VU students are thriving in this remote learning landscape – in large part thanks to the single-unit focus of the Block Model. Results have shown students have coped much better than those of other universities teaching in the traditional model.
