Victoria University TAFE staff vote in favour of new Enterprise Agreement

The votes have been counted, and Victoria University (VU) is pleased to share that 97.7% percent of staff are in favour of the VU Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2025.
This overwhelmingly positive endorsement of the new agreement also provides a roadmap to design and sustain the growth and wellbeing of both current and future VU TAFE colleagues.
The endorsement includes the following benefits:
- A 21% salary increase over the four-year life of the agreement (expiring on 31 December 2028)
- Superannuation increase to 17% for all continuing and fixed-term staff. This is a significant parity and One VU measure. Once implemented, all fixed-term and continuing teaching and professional colleagues of the University will now enjoy the same superannuation entitlement
- New leave enhancements, including:
- Personal/Carers leave
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leave
- Gender Affirmation leave
- Family and Domestic Violence leave
- Parental leave
- Purchased leave.
VU Vice-Chancellor Professor Adam Shoemaker was delighted with the outcome and acknowledged the University's joint efforts to shape a brighter, more inclusive future.
“Ours is a growing institution with big goals and an even bigger heart. This new Enterprise Agreement will enable us to continue to nurture the west of Melbourne as a thriving place to study, work and live – where talented people can achieve their aspirations for career betterment.
