Melbourne Victory’s exciting ticket offer

VU’s partnership with Melbourne Victory Football Club (MVFC) yields many benefits. VU began a five-year Strategic Partnership Agreement with the club last year.

The exciting engagement will initially see Victoria University provide sport science and performance support for Melbourne Victory’s Academy teams (Victoria’s best young male and female players). This will result in a range of unique learning experiences for our students.

Already, a number of students have completed placements with the club. General Manager of Technical and Coaching at Melbourne Victory FC, Rob Sherman, said:

"Work placements are an ideal way for students to gain ‘real life’ industry training. The best advice I would give to any student is to take every opportunity you find to gain practical experience."

Further areas of collaboration will include:

• translational research projects
• joint staff appointments
• professional development
• community activities.

The partnership sees Melbourne Victory benefit from VU’s expertise in sport science, high-performance coaching and sport management with access to VU’s state-of-the-art sport and exercise training and research facilities. Melbourne Victory’s football players are also eligible for VU’s elite student athletes program, which supports elite athletes to study while maintaining a high-level sporting career.

Exciting ticket offer for staff

In closer proximity, and on a celebratory note with the soccer season now open (October-May), the MVFC is offering VU staff a two-game membership for $40 (an $18 savings on general admission tickets), valid for all home games apart from Round 16 Melbourne Victory v Sydney FC on Saturday January 26.
