The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation in partnership with Victoria University will celebrate International Women’s Day in 2020 with an event at VU Whitten Oval on 10 March.

The free event, co-hosted by Maribyrnong City Council, will celebrate girls and women whilst promoting gender equality.

The theme of International Women’s Day in 2020 is #IAmGenerationEquality. It aims to inspire the next generation of female leaders to come together and continue being the change makers for all ages and genders.

A panel of inspirational women will reflect on gender equity, followed by a friendly kick to kick out on the ground. The panel will include:

  • Mayor of Maribyrnong City Council, Cr Sarah Carter
  • Director, Western Bulldogs Football Club and Basketball Australia CEO, Jerril Rechter
  • Inspiring Author and local resident of the west, Amal Abou-Eid
  • Women Making It Happen Member and 2019 Melton Citizen of the Year, Maureen Mohr.

Light refreshments and catering will be provided, with the event to begin at 6.30pm.

All are welcome to attend, including children (with parent/carer supervision). Attendance is free but spaces are limited so please register to confirm your spot.
