Create a new look for the V4U Day 2025 T-shirt and you could see your design on up to 500 T-shirts!

V4U Day (Volunteer for You Day) is our largest annual community volunteering event. Held over a full day every year in semester 2, V4U Day involves VU students, alumni and staff members taking part side-by-side in volunteering activities in the community across the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Volunteers will wear a T-shirt that you can design!

Prize

The winning design will get a $200 e-gift card that can be claimed at various stores.

Eligibility

You must be a current Victoria University (VU) student.
The work must be an original artwork produced by you and any elements contained within must be created by you.
By entering the V4U Day T-shirt Design Competition (Competition) you confirm that you have read, understood and are bound by the terms and conditions.
You may enter up to three artworks in the Competition.
Your artwork file(s) must be high resolution (minimum of 300 dpi).

Your artwork must:

use no more than three colours (not including the T-shirt base colour)
be provided in block colours (no gradients)
incorporate the terms 'V4U' or 'V4U Day', and '2025'
capture the theme of 'giving back to the community'
not include any clip art images from Word, Publisher, Powerpoint, etc
be in A3 portrait format
account for the T-shirt base colours (choose from the available base colours as indicated on this page). The T-shirt colour is not included in the three-colour limit of your artwork.

How to enter

Enter via online form by Sunday27 July 2025, 11.59pm.

Entries should also include a short statement about your work and how your design represents the theme.

A winner will be selected from the entries by a panel consisting of VU staff and students.

: By entering the V4U Day T-shirt Design Competition (Competition), you agree to the following conditions:
The promoter is Victoria University (VU) (ABN: 83 776 954 731, CRICOS Provider No. 00124K) PO Box 14428, Melbourne, Victoria 8001.
By entering the Competition you warrant that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions.
The Competition commences on 7 July 2025 at 9am AEST and closes on 27 July 2025 at 11.59pm AEST (Competition Period). Any entry that is not received during the Competition Period will be invalid.
Entry is open to all current VU students.
You may enter up to three times. All entries must comply with the instructions provided in the V4U Day 2025 T-shirt Design Competition Artwork Guidelines, which can be found above. Entries that do not comply with the Guidelines are not valid entries.
You have provided VU with an original T-shirt design (Artwork). The winning Artwork will form the basis of a T-shirt design that is to be printed for volunteers to wear on V4U Day 2025.
There will be one winning Artwork selected from the valid entries (Winner).
The Winner will receive a $200 e-gift card (Prize).
This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.
A panel consisting of VU staff and students will select some Artworks (Finalists) from the entries. The Winner will be selected on the basis of their Artwork being the Artwork with the most artistic merit, as voted by the panel.
You warrant that you have created the Artwork and the Artwork is original and does not infringe the copyright, moral rights or other rights of any third party. If an Artwork is based on other work, appropriate approval must be sourced and attached to the entry form.
You grant to VU on submission of your Artwork a royalty free, perpetual, non-exclusive and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce and communicate to the public the Artwork for the purposes of the Competition, any purpose connected with the Competition (now and into the future) and for VU’s advertising, marketing and VU-related purposes. VU will respect the author’s moral right of attribution in the Artwork.
The Winner will not be entitled to any further remuneration as a result of VU’s subsequent use of the Winner’s Artwork.
VU may adapt or alter the Winning Artwork to suit VU branding requirements, with the Winner’s consent which will not be unreasonably withheld.
VU reserves the right to not use the Winner’s Artwork.
VU will contact the Winner after 28 July 2025, and their name will be published on the VU Student Life Facebook page.
In all matters relating to the Competition, all decisions of VU and staff will be final and cannot be contested. No correspondence or discussions will be entered.
