V4U Day 2024
V4U Day is Victoria University’s largest award-winning community event where students, alumni and staff members take part in volunteering activities across the western suburbs of Melbourne.
To register to be a V4U Day volunteer, you need to be a current VU student, staff member or alumni.
Registration will close Sunday 13 October, 11:59pm.
What happens on the day?
You will arrive at Footscray Park Campus in the morning, enjoy a free light breakfast and entertainment, and collect your V4U Day T-shirt, bucket hat and lunch pack.
After reporting to your project team leader and meeting other volunteers on your team, you'll be transported by bus to your community project location in Melbourne's west.
Your team will complete a volunteering project with one of our partnered community organisation (approximately 4 hours, including breaks). There's a wide range of projects for you to choose from, including:
- revitalising a garden
- re-painting an old shed
- fixing bikes
- sharing stories
- wrapping gifts
- writing Christmas cards.
Once your project is complete, we will pick you up and drive you back to campus for the after-event celebration with the other teams.
