Take a break from your studies to recharge at Stress Less Fest – online, on campus and at our partner music studio and sporting facilities in May 2021.

There will be free activities, including:

  • therapy dog visits

Exercise & Reducing Stress – lunchtime walk along the river

Tuesday 18 May, 12pm-1pm, Footscray Park Campus (Meet at Building M, Level 1 lifts)

Join VU Counsellor Liz Kianidis and a VU Sport representative and go for an engaging and interactive walk along the Maribyrnong River.

You will learn all about the benefits of exercise as well as some stress-management techniques.

If the weather is not appropriate for a walk, we will instead do some gentle stretching and movement in the Building L exercise rooms.

Managing Unwanted Thoughts & Emotions

VU Counsellor Adriana McMahon will discuss ways to respond creatively to emotional challenges to enhance wellbeing, reduce anxious thoughts and stress habits, including unwanted behaviours such as avoidance, procrastination and physical discomfort.

Take a break from study and watch the Victoria University men's and women's teams compete in the inaugural University Basketball League (UBL).

Students, staff, friends and family are encouraged to show support by cheering on VU for Round 5 of the 2021 University Basketball League.

Our home games are played at VU Witten Oval or you can watch from home on the live stream.

Spectators are welcome to attend the VU Community Sports Stadium – Whitten Oval to show support and to get up close to the action.

Patrons are reminded to follow these simple directions to remain COVID safe when visiting the VU Community Sports Stadium – Whitten Oval:

  • Clean hands. Please remember to wash or sanitise your hands regularly.
  • Know when it’s time to bow out. Feel unwell or have cold symptoms? Then please stay at home.
  • Stay at least 1.5m apart. For good measure, please stay 1.5 metres from one another.

Team training sessions are small group sessions run by a personal trainer, several times per day, with a different focus each day.

All sessions are 45 minutes and include a warm up and stretching. Limited spaces available so sign up below.
