This year's NAIDOC event will be held at Footscray Park Campus on Tuesday 16 July from 10.30am–3.30pm.

Agenda

10.30–11.30am: Welcome Ceremony
11.30–12pm: pre-lunch entertainment: comedy skit and poetry reading
12–1pm: lunch
1–2pm: workshops (session 1)
2.15–3.12pm: workshops (session 2).

You can order multiple tickets for the ceremony and workshops (including up to two workshop tickets). Please be mindful of the different time slots, so you don't double up.

Workshops

: The following workshops will be held during session 1 (1.15–2.15pm):
Wood burning class. Practice wood burning and design your own Boomerang.
Weaving/jewellery making. Make a woven bracelet and other pieces of jewelry.
Cooking damper. Make it and taste it.
Dance. Learn and practise traditional dancing from the Djirri Djirri group (note: this workshop will run until 2pm).
Artefact display and talk. Learn about traditional artefacts and their purpose.
Cultural heritage and burning. Discover how cultural heritage is being practised today, and about cultural burns.
Aboriginal History Archive (AHA) tour. Get an insight into and explore the Foley collection, and learn about the current project the AHA team are working on.
: The following workshops will be held during session 2 (2.30–3.30pm):
Wood burning class. Practice wood burning and design your own Boomerang.
