You can hire a selection of rooms, including tutorial rooms, lecture theatres, computer labs and general purpose classrooms at all of our campuses.

Our facilities suit business meetings, seminars and lectures.

Please note that hire of teaching spaces is only available when the rooms are not required for academic programs.

Room hire

Tutorial rooms, lecture and general purpose classrooms may be booked by external clients of the University.

You can hire tutorial rooms, lecture theatres, computer labs and general purpose classrooms at all of our campuses.

They suit business meetings, seminars and lectures.

Room sizes & services

Select your room size and audiovisual services from the options available. Audiovisual support staff can advise you on how to operate the equipment. For a fee, they can also attend the event to ensure the equipment is used properly.

Our range of rooms and locations can suit a variety of purposes:

  • lecture theatres - tiered to seat 90-300 people, or non-tiered to seat 50-350 people
  • general purpose classrooms - flat-floored classrooms with movable tables and chairs to seat 20-40 people
  • computer labs - equipped with 20 computers, which include Microsoft Office
  • meeting rooms - seating for 5-40 people. Some rooms have kitchen facilities.
  • sports and fitness centres.

An extensive range of modern audiovisual equipment is included in the hire of University facilities.

Lecture theatre AV facilities

Lecture theatres are fitted with the following AV (audiovisual) facilities:

  • ceiling mounted LCD Projector
  • PC with Microsoft Office and Internet access
  • custom lectern with built-in control system for all equipment
  • multi-zone DVD replay and audio CD playback
  • video replay
  • overhead projector
  • document camera
  • screen
  • white board.

An audiovisual levy of $22 (GST inclusive) is charged for all external bookings in lecture theatres equipped with a data projector.


Classrooms are equipped with a variety of audiovisual equipment including a white board, TV/DVD/video unit, screen, overhead projectors and a portable data projector (also available for hire - contact us for hire rates and availability).


Rooms can be hired at any one of our campuses. Victoria University has 4 city campuses, and a number in Melbourne's west including Footscray, Sunshine, St Albans and Werribee.

Note: City Queen's Moot Court facilities are not available for hire using this mechanism, contact the staff there directly.


We can provide on-campus catering for your next event.



Security services include regular patrols of campuses and car parks in order to make our campuses safer for students, staff and campus visitors.

You might need additional security for bookings that attract over 200 people, or for bookings that fall outside of normal business hours.

If additional security is required, you will be informed of the number of security guards required and the appropriate charges.
