Meeting rooms & facilities for hire

We have a number of rooms that can be hired for various events, functions or meetings for University business, or for other purposes by external clients.

Our staff can help you organise events and catering both on and off-campus in Melbourne's CBD and Western suburbs.

Tutorial rooms, lecture halls and general-purpose classrooms are available for booking. Our facilities suit business meetings, seminars and lectures.

The hiring of teaching spaces is subject to availability. These rooms are only available when they are not required for academic programs.

Standard room hire

External clients can hire tutorial rooms, lecture theatres, computer labs and general purpose classrooms at all of our campuses.

Hire costs

Our facilities are hired out at half day (up to 4 hours) and full day rates.

Rates are current as of March 2024.

In addition to the booking rates, there may be additional costs involved, such as:

  • audiovisual onsite: audiovisual support staff can attend the event to ensure the equipment is used properly
  • additional cleaning: for extra cleaning services beyond standard maintenance
  • equipment hire: rental fees for any additional equipment needed
  • security: security services may be required under the following conditions:
    • events held outside of business hours
    • alcohol is being served
    • large events over 200 people.

Sir Zelman Cowen Centre

Potential clients (both external and internal) can hire rooms within the Sir Zelman Cowen Centre on a casual or ad hoc basis for a wide variety of functions, including:

  • courses, lectures, seminars and workshops
  • meetings and training
  • conferences
  • book and product launches, trade shows and exhibitions
  • cocktail parties, industry breakfasts and business lunches.
