    Gain specialist knowledge in managerial accounting and develop relevant technical skills to aid in the understanding of a business.




    Working with financial and non-financial data to draw insight that can be communicated effectively to a business.
    In this unit, you will expertise in:

    • strategic and operational planning and control
    • various managerial techniques
    • evaluation of product/service costing methodologies
    • sustainable business performance.

    You will engage in a range of learning activities involving readings, problem-solving exercises, guided discussions, and industry analysis.

    By the end of the unit, you will understand how to meet the needs of managers making business decisions based on financial performance metrics.

    Learning Outcomes

    On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

    1. Compose management reports demonstrating theoretical and technical knowledge that assists senior management to control routine and non-routine business performance;
    2. Appraise information contained in management reports and present and defend recommendations about possible corrective action;
    3. Adapt a range of principles and complex techniques to critique management reports; and,
    4. Critically evaluate and present company sustainability reports.
