Overview

The primary objective of the online modules is to provide participants with the background information, essential knowledge and initial skills necessary to be able to undertake the in-person component of the training.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Gain an understanding of the courts and court protocol;
  2. Develop some initial skills in advocacy;
  3. Develop their interviewing skills;
  4. Gain an understanding of the legislation under which they work;
  5. Learn about the research evidence on ‘what works’ in community corrections; and
  6. Learn how to develop and nurture stakeholder relationships.
