Overview

The unit is designed to further develop business Chinese with the emphasis on developing listening and speaking skills to an intermediate level. In this unit, students will learn expressions used in different business situations.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Utilise Chinese vocabulary and grammatical knowledge in given business situations;
  2. Explain China's changing environment and current business practices;
  3. Perform business conversations in different topics; and,
  4. Read and write up to 245 Chinese words cumulatively.

Required reading

The course is based on the textbook, Experience Chinese-Business Communication in Chinese and exercise book. Lecture notes, selected articles and case studies will be provided by or referred to by lecturer. Students will receive a book loan from Victoria Business Confucius Institute if required.
