Students will complete a placement at the Victoria University Dermal Science and Therapy Clinic. During this placement students will undertake activities including client assessment and treatments for a broad range of skin conditions. Students will observe other Dermal Clinicians’ work and participate in the business activities of a dermal practice. Students will receive close supervision by a qualified Dermal Clinician, learn about ethical, legal and organisational practice issues, and experience professional contact with a range of health professionals. During this placement students will consolidate theory and practice to demonstrate competencies for clinical practice. Students are required to have a Dermal Clinic Uniform pack, clinical equipment packs including protective eye wear for lasers and have met the clinical learning requirements including police check, working with children, Hep B immunisation and privacy disclosure.
