Overview

Gain in-depth understanding of information systems and related project development, with the Project Management Methods and Tools unit.

You will apply the knowledge and skills gained in previous units, examining and developing project outcomes for a variety of scenarios.

Considering modern technologies, platforms and tools (such as those from the cloud) you will learn to analyse:

  • conceptual processes
  • solution design
  • deployment.

You will also develop skills in:

  • communication
  • research
  • business analysis
  • solution development through project reporting and evaluation.

Throughout the unit, you will take part in problem-solving activities that contextualise your learning and prepare you for your future career.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Interpret key information system aspects and their application to real-world examples through team collaborations;
  2. Evaluate and critically analyse key theoretical concepts for successful business information system implementation;
  3. Apply theoretical knowledge and technical skills necessary for project management using relevant principles, tools, and techniques; and,
  4. Collaboratively propose and support recommendations to project stakeholders to resolve problems in an information systems business scenario utilising effective communication tools.
