Young leader
Lecturers instilled in us the belief that we could be part of something greater than ourselves. This inspired me to always put in 100%.
Luba Grigorovitch
Bachelor of Business (Event Management), Bachelor of Arts (Sports Administration)
Victorian Business Icon award winner Luba Grigorovitch credits VU for her successful career in politics and business.
"My older brother was the first in our family to go to university and he chose VU. Wanting to continue the family tradition, I decided to do my degree at VU.
I created history as the first person in Hobsons Bay Council to win selection as a Councillor on primary votes. I was elected to Local Government for the municipality of Hobsons Bay.
Along with being a Councillor, I also hold down a full time job as the Industrial, Campaigns and Women's officer for the Rail, Tram and Bus Union, which I find challenging, yet exciting. I was awarded the Victorian Business Icon Award, beating over 400 of the sharpest young minds in the state.
Lecturers instilled in us the belief that we could be part of something greater than ourselves. This inspired me to always put in 100%."
