Accredited exercise physiologist Daniel Zeina used VU’s industry links to kick-start an exciting career in injury management and rehabilitation.
"I started out as a sub-elite soccer player with a passion for conditioning and rehabilitation, which led me to study clinical exercise science. I visited VU’s sport facilities and found them to be world-class standard which is why I chose the University.
"During my studies I undertook clinical placements in private practice, community rehabilitation centres, hospitals and sporting clubs via VU’s industry partnerships. These prepared me to present well in applying for graduate work opportunities and helped me stand out as an applicant.
"Upon graduating, I leveraged VU’s strong relationship with Donvale Rehabilitation Hospital to gain a Grade 1 Exercise Physiology position where I worked in the outpatient rehabilitation ward. I am now an accredited exercise physiologist and the area manager of a national injury management company. Through my soccer networks, I also do contract work with A-League clubs, completing elite player rehabilitation and return-to-competition programs."
