Alexandra Huculak’s development as a youth worker was inspired by VU’s inclusive and nurturing atmosphere.
"I chose VU because it had the reputation for the best youth work course, with the best connections to youth work departments for practical placements. As VU is the University of Opportunity, I knew that I would be given the chance to show my teachers what I could do.
I received assistance from VU’s Student Writing Mentors who helped me learn how to improve my writing. This service helped me see that everyone has the potential to achieve their academic goals and I spent my final year working to help others as part of the Student Writing Mentor team.
I have grown so much as a youth worker because of the opportunities VU has given me. I got a hands on education as a youth worker in my placements in the youth work sector and have been asked to return to work on multiple camping programs because of my dedication and hard work."
