Playing to win

Gary Pert, CEO of Collingwood Football Club, credits much of his success to his Associate Diploma of Arts.

"Victoria University gave me a great platform to move into various different areas in my life, with the greatest impact in the area of communication skills.

As CEO of Collingwood Football Club, I am required to do a lot of public speaking ranging from high pressure media conferences, to delivering to groups as large as 1000 people.

My professional career has revolved around managing individuals and my course has given me the ability to educate, motivate and counsel individuals.

My strongest memories of VU are centred around completing my studies in amongst high energy, highly motivated, high performers, which was in turn inspirational for me.

I would recommend the university because I believe it prepared me for a complete and balanced professional career. I think the proof in any course is how beneficial it is as you draw back on the learning in the future."
