Master of Professional & Organisational Communication

Niru Tripathi came from Nepal to study communication at VU and is now the youngest and first female editor of Nepali Print Media in Australia.

"I have always wanted to study an international degree in communication and found that Australia’s education system could help me in achieving my dream. After a long search of different universities in Australia, I found my course with VU. I knew I would receive high quality education as well as great support from qualified and experienced professors and teaching staff.

After specialising in communication and journalism, I was appointed as an editor of Nepali Times Melbourne. I’ve been recognised as the youngest and first female editor of Nepali Print Media in Australia and also been awarded the title of Media Personality of the Year 2015 by the Non-Resident Nepalese Association Australia. I am currently appointed as the Public Relations Officer for the Nepal Consulate General to Victoria as well as a Public Relations and Communications Manager at Royal Gurkhas Institute of Technology Australia. I believe in consistently making the Nepalese community in Australia better, as well as being an active resident of Victoria.

VU provided me with a great opportunity to learn and achieve different successes during my two years here in Australia. There are many practical units provided which help me gain more insight into real-world work experience and deliver a strong foundation for students like me to be successful in their career pathway."
