Sara Cook, founder of Signpost Aged Care Services, an Australian Women's Weekly Women in Business Awards 2015 winner, found inspiration for her business through VU’s practical approach to nursing education.
"I was trained at the hospital before I went to Victoria University and the course really challenged me to think outside the box in conducting research and using a community approach to nursing.
I was impressed with the quality of lecturers we had. Their actual work experience and their educational background were something that stood out for me.
Even though I did the course a few years ago, it helped me immensely in my business today. The content of my VU course provided me with the foundation to set up my business Signpost Aged Care Services.
My revolutionary one-stop shop approach to supporting people with ageing loved ones has won a highly commended award for The Australian Women's Weekly Women in Business Awards 2015."
