Engineering a future

Shaun Clark’s bright future is written in the stars.

"I knew that I wanted to pursue electrical engineering, so I ensured that I completed all the prerequisite subjects at high school to enrol in the uni course.

Victoria University has been the perfect learning environment for me. Becoming a student mentor helped my all-round development and I want to continue providing support to new graduates in the future.

As part of my final year project, I developed two remote observatories at West Preston and Avoca, which are remotely accessible from the Ballarat Observatory.

The installations stream images of the night sky so that visitors can still see the stars on a cloudy night by utilising the telescopes at these locations.

In my final year, I applied for the graduate program at Sinclair Knight Merz, an engineering consultancy. I am now a graduate security consultant in their Building and Infrastructure department."
