Our sports coaching courses are provided by the College of Sport and Exercise Science and Victoria Polytechnic.

Short courses 1 course

Duration: 1000 hours
EAP is a university and TAFE preparation course. It is designed for students with upper intermediate to advanced levels of English who want to gain admission to an Australian TAFE, undergraduate or postgraduate course.

TAFE certificates & diplomas 3 courses

Duration: 0.5 years

The Certificate III in Fitness gives you the skills and knowledge to work confidently as a gym instructor or group exercise instructor.

Duration: 2 years

Prepare for a career in the sport and recreation sector and develop essential sporting skills and industry knowledge.

Duration: 1 year
Develop your skills in the sport and recreation industry gaining knowledge in project management, and facilitating and coordinating teams and groups.

Bachelor degrees (undergraduate) 4 courses

Duration: 3 years

Prepare for your ideal career as a leader in fitness centres and community-exercise programs, with a Bachelor of Fitness from VU.

Duration: 3 years
This course provides knowledge and skills in physical education and sport science through a range of subjects across various disciplines.
Duration: 1 year

Take your knowledge of sport and exercise science into exciting new areas with the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours).

Duration: 3 years

This specialised program leads to a variety of career options in clinical exercise science, rehabilitation, sport science or human movement.

Postgraduate 2 courses

Duration: 0.5 years

Work with football clubs to improve player performance, with a Graduate Certificate in Performance Analysis (Football) from VU. The performance-analysis skills – in particular video-analysis skills – you acquire in our football-analysis course will help you find a career that fits with your passion for football.

Duration: 0.5 years

Our sport-strategy course allows experienced sport-management professionals and recent sport-management graduates to build upon their existing credentials with the latest knowledge and skills.

Postgraduate research 2 courses

Postgraduate Research

Research postgraduate

Our Office for Research provides support to our current and future researchers, such as:

  • identify a research topic
  • find a supervisor
  • apply for research supervision or grants.
Duration: 2 years
Staff will supervise graduate research in many areas of specialisation, such as the Master of Arts, history, philosophy of sport, sociology of physical education and sport management.
Duration: 4 years
The Doctoral degree in Sport and Recreation is an advanced research program offered across VU’s research focus areas.
I chose VU because of its links to professional sporting organisations, outstanding research facilities and well-respected staff. I was recently appointed Physical Performance Manager at the Western Bulldogs in the AFL.
