About Siew Fang Law

Siew-Fang Law is passionate in promoting social justice and peace through her research. She is:

  • an Associate Professor at Victoria University, Melbourne
  • a Research Fellow of the Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities (Victoria University)
  • an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Sydney.

Her teaching and research intersect the areas of community development, peace and conflict transformation. She was the Academic Chair of the postgraduate programs in International Community Development in the College of Arts and Education at Victoria University for 9 years.

Internationally she was appointed the Professor Extraordinarius of University of South Africa, a Co-Chair of the International Network for Peace Psychology, a Board Editor of Springer Peace Psychology Book Series, and formerly an Associate Editor of the Journal of Social and Political Psychology.

Beyond the tertiary education sector, she is active in communities and practices as a mediator, conflict coach and dialogue facilitator. Siew Fang is an elected Council member of Victoria University, and has worked with UNDP and UNESCO in Southeast Asia.
